Getafe 0-0 Racing Santander
Getafe failed to replicate their opening-day thumping of Racing Santander despite the visitors' being reduced to ten men early in the second period.
The hosts had the best of the first half, with both Pedro Leon and Soldado skirting the post early on with drilled efforts, although Jorge Codina did brilliantly to deal with a Mo Tchite and Alex Geijo double strike at the other end.
The Azulones seemed set to go on and win as Jose Moraton picked up his second booking just after the break, but some excellent deep defending from the Cantabrians saw the match end goalless - Geta's first home draw of the season.
Tenerife 1-2 Zaragoza
A late triple salvo earned Zaragoza all three points at the Heliodoro in a game that saw Humberto Suazo open his Liga account.
Tenerife started by far the better side and duly took the lead three minutes after the break through Juanlu, who got on the end of Pablo Sicilia's cross to fire past the busy Juan Pablo Carrizo.
But fifteen minutes from time Humberto Suazo converted a penalty after Ezequiel Luna felled Javier Arizmendi in the box.
From there the floodgates opened, Adrian Colunga scoring a one-on-one after Gabi's pass before Angel Lafita wrapped it up with a brilliant strike from 20 yards.
Valladolid 1-1 Almeria
A late, late equaliser rescued a point for ten-man Valladolid after Almeria thought they had it wrapped up.
Albert Crusat linked up brilliantly with Henok Goitom to score a deserved first after twelve minutes, before Manucho was given a straight red after fouling Chico seven minutes before half time.
Valladolid coach Jose Luis Mendilibar was sent to the stands fifteen minutes before time, but as he ascended the steps he saw his team level the score, Cesar Arzo heading Haris Medunjanin's free-kick goalwards for an unlikely point.
Xerez 2-1 Mallorca
Xerez picked up just their second win of the season by concluding a dismal week for Mallorca with a 2-1 home victory.
It seemed to be business as usual for the Barralets as Pierre Webo took the visitors in to the break with a 1-0 win following a brilliant header off Chori Castro's cross.
But seven minutes after the restart the Andalucians were level as Carlos Calvo buried a wonderful looping shot from the edge of the area.
Just before the break the former Alcoyano man made it a day to remember with his second and thus gave the Xerecistas a fighting chance of staying up.
